Where to shower when traveling in a van or caravan?

Traveling in a van or RV is synonymous with freedom, but hygiene is still a necessity. If your vehicle doesn’t have a shower or you need something more comfortable, here are the most common options for showering during your trip:

Showers in campsites

Campsites are one of the most convenient options for showering, especially if you also need to empty water or charge your vehicle’s battery. Many campsites allow you to use showers even if you’re not staying there, for a nominal fee.

Gas stations with showers

More and more service stations are offering showers, especially on routes frequented by truck drivers. On our map, you’ll find gas stations with showers from brands such as Repsol, BP, Shell, and others.

  • Repsol with shower
  • BP with shower
  • Shell with shower

Showers in sports centers and municipal swimming pools

Many sports centers and municipal swimming pools allow shower use for a small entrance fee. This is a useful option in cities and towns where public showers are unavailable.

Showers at Hostels, B&Bs, or Guesthouses
Some hostels allow occasional use of their facilities without an overnight stay. If you need a quick shower and a private setting, this can be a good option.

Showers at Gyms
Gym chains like McFIT or Basic-Fit allow showering at any facility if you have a membership, but some local gyms also offer day passes that include use of locker rooms and showers.

Showers in hostels, guesthouses or guesthouses

Some hostels allow short-term use of their facilities without having to stay overnight. If you need a quick shower and a private setting, this may be a good option.

Showers in gyms

Some gyms allow showering at any facility if you have a membership, but some local gyms also offer day passes that include use of locker rooms and showers.

💧 Tip: Always carry a quick-drying towel, flip-flops, and keep a bag with your toiletries handy. Showering will be easier no matter where you are.

Frequently asked questions from travelers

Here we answer the most common questions so you can stay on track… hassle-free.

Is all the information about the showers up to date?

We try to keep the map and listings as up-to-date as possible, but we can’t guarantee that the information is always current. This site is for informational purposes only, and some locations may have changed hours, prices, or stopped offering services. If you spot any errors or know of a shower that isn’t listed, we’d love to hear about it!

In many cases, yes. Some stations allow all travelers to use the showers, although others may be restricted. It’s always a good idea to ask before using them or check their website.

We’ve included public showers, showers at gas stations, campsites, sports centers, municipal swimming pools, gyms, hostels, and other places that offer access to a shower, although they’re not always free.

It depends on the location. Some public showers, such as those at the beach, are free. Others, such as those at campsites or gyms, may have a small charge. At each point on the map, we try to indicate whether there is a charge, where available.

Not all showers are open at all times. For example, some beach showers only operate during peak season.

Yes! If you know of a useful shower for the camper community that isn’t listed on the map, you can write to us using the contact form. We’d love to add it and help everyone grow this resource.
